ACIU-UK Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern membership of, and participation in, ACIU-UK’s activities, events and website. By joining as a member or attending an ACIU-UK event, you agree to the terms set out below, which are consistent with ACIU-UK’s Constitution approved 28 October 2023.
Membership
- Membership is open to individuals aged eighteen or over, and to organisations, who support the objects of the Charity and are approved by the Trustees.
- The Trustees may require applications for membership to be made in a reasonable manner of their choosing, and may decline an application where they consider it in the Charity’s interest to do so.
- Membership is personal to the individual (or organisation) and is not transferable.
- Members may be required to pay a reasonable membership fee, as set from time to time by the Trustees.
Termination of membership
- Membership ends on death or, for an organisation, on it ceasing to exist.
- A member may resign at any time by written notice, provided this does not reduce membership below two.
- Membership may be terminated by the Trustees where a member’s conduct is judged not to be in the best interests of the Charity, following due process as set out in the Constitution.
Events and activities
- ACIU-UK events and programmes are open to members and, in many cases, the wider UK public, in line with our charitable objects and public benefit commitments.
- Attendees are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and in a manner consistent with ACIU-UK’s values of community, openness and inclusion.
- ACIU-UK reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove, any individual whose conduct is disruptive or inappropriate.
- Where an event carries a fee, this will be clearly stated at the time of booking.
Donations and fundraising
Donations to ACIU-UK are used solely to further the Charity’s objects, in accordance with our Constitution. Where Gift Aid is claimed, donors must be UK taxpayers and must confirm this at the time of donation.
Website use
Content on the ACIU-UK website is provided for general information. While we take care to keep information accurate and current, ACIU-UK accepts no liability for errors or omissions. Reproduction of website content for commercial purposes requires prior written permission.
Liability
ACIU-UK holds appropriate public liability insurance for its events. Attendance at events and activities is at the participant’s own risk, save where loss or injury arises from ACIU-UK’s negligence.
Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.
